Welcome to the National Indian Council on Aging’s (NICOA) Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) webpage.
NICOA has been a national sponsor of SCSEP since 1989. Not only does NICOA serve a number of tribes, its Senior Community Service Employment Program also targets the populations of Most In Need and the Hard To Serve among low-income Elderly.
The SCSEP has helped a large number of Elders to learn new skills and/or improve already existing skills. With the skills the Elders gain, whether new or improved, this has enabled them to enter the workforce with self confidence. This program provides meaningful part-time work experience in community services and opportunities to transition to unsubsidized jobs in private industry or the public sectors. |
